Eduardo has over 30 years of diversified experience within the International Banking industry whereby he has gained extensive banking, insurance and regulatory knowledge. Eduardo has held a wide variety of senior leadership positions including CEO, CFO and COO throughout his career.

Eduardo was appointed Managing Director, Head of Markets Ring-Fenced Bank in July 2018. He was previously Group Corporate Development Director and Accountable Executive for the Ring-Fencing Programme from August 2016. Eduardo was on secondment from the Group from September 2014, and was appointed Chairman and CEO of Novo Banco in Portugal.

Prior to joining LBG in April 2014, Eduardo held senior positions with Santander in the USA including being a member of the Board of Directors and of the Management Executive Committee and COO of Santander Bank, NA (USA) from March 2009 through to October 2013. Eduardo was an Executive Board Member at Banco Santander de Negocios and later at Banco Santander Totta in Portugal between 1993-2009 where he held a number of positions including Head of Investment Banking, Insurance and Asset Management, as well as COO, CFO and Controller.

Eduardo has an MBA from the Nova School of Business (Lisbon) and a Degree in Economics from the Portuguese Catholic University.
