In November 2017 Ed was appointed as Managing Director, Head of
Global Transaction Banking within Commercial Banking. The Global
Transaction Banking business serves all client groups within Commercial
and Retail Business Banking, through specialist teams across the UK and
key international hubs. As well as the provision of key cash management
and payments products, the business designs, builds and delivers
propositions to support clients’ broader working capital needs including
Trade and Supply Chain Finance and Asset and Invoice Finance.
Ed joined Lloyds Banking Group in August 2008 as a Director in Group
Corporate Development. He was responsible for the development and
formulation of the Group’s corporate strategy and was a member of the
team that led the Group Strategic Review. Immediately prior to his current
role Ed spent five years as Managing Director, Financial Institutions, a
client unit created at the inception of the Commercial Banking business to
create deeper institutional focus on this segment, and to best harness
emerging industry trends to our benefit.
After completing a degree in Economics, Ed began his career at the Bank
of England before moving to the Financial Services Authority at its
formation in 1998. He has also held senior strategy roles at Bear Stearns
and ABN AMRO and before this spent five years with McKinsey &
Company, consulting across the industry but with an emphasis on
Wholesale Banking clients.
In addition to his management responsibilities of the GTB business, Ed is
also the Group’s Regional Ambassador for London and Commercial
Banking’s Executive Sponsor for Disability.
