David was appointed as Group Director for Commercial Banking in September 2017, responsible for supporting corporate clients from SMEs through Mid Markets to Global Corporates and Financial Institutions. In addition to fulfilling the everyday banking needs of businesses in the UK, the Division provides products and solutions across Global Transaction Banking, Capital & Financial Markets and Lending.
David started his career with Lloyds Bank 33 years ago on the graduate entrant programme and has held a number of key leadership roles across all Divisions of the Group since that time. Immediately prior to his current role he was Group Director Retail and Consumer Finance, responsible for the Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Bank of Scotland, Lex Autolease and Black Horse brands including the retail branch networks, customer products and Telephone Banking, in addition to Retail Business Banking and UK Wealth businesses.
David was first appointed to Group Executive Committee in May 2014 as Group Director, Operations and IT. Before that David has held the roles of Group CIO, Managing Director SME and Mid Markets Banking, Managing Director Asset Finance, Chief Operating Officer Commercial Banking, Managing Director Offshore Banking and Group Procurement Director.
David became the Lloyds Banking Group Executive sponsor for Disability in 2014 and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
